Reflection #9: The Incarnation of God

Reflection #9: The Incarnation of God

In the scripture, Philippians 2:1-7, it is said that Jesus is  form of God. In the movie, Jesus is son of God, and in a Christmas carol, says he is messiah, Christ, new-born king, God with man, and the Lord. The Christmas carol is called “Angels From The Realms Of Glory”. This carol is emphasizing the story of shepherds and astrologers. The verses are “Shepherds in the field abiding, watching oe’r your flocks by night” and “Sages leave your contemplations, brighter visions beam afar”.
Mary is important in Jesus’ story because she gave birth to Jesus. She believed Gabriel and accepted God’s word. Joseph is important because he believed Mary’s words and raised Jesus as his son. The shepherds are important because they heard Gabriel's word and were the first people who recognize Jesus. Persian astrologers are important because they brought gifts to Jesus, and each gift represents something important in Jesus’ life.
Jesus came to earth as a savior of people. He died in order to save the world by taking sin of people. He came to earth as a baby because he came as a human just like us. God choose this method because this is the best way to make people believe in him. Also, Jesus actually experienced life as a human to learn about human life.
